Collar Magic
At the first meeting Ron suggested we buy a special training collar. I declined, but had a difficult time trying to get my puppy to obey me. At the next lesson I bought the collar and what a difference that made! Now she obeys my command. Ron was patient with all the dogs and owners, he knows what he is doing with these 5 week classes. PUPPY TRAINING Puppy training is offered as a prelude to the basic obedience class, it last for three (3) weeks, one (1) hour a week, and is highly recommended for the first time dog owner. Also for people who may be looking to get their new pup socialized with other dogs or may be looking for a new fresh way of training!! Syllabus: a. House breaking (Potty training) b. Safety (What should I know) c. Crate training (The benefits) d. Up to 3 months of age (What should I and my new puppy be learning) BASIC OBEDIENCE Basic obedience is just what it sounds like, the basics. We believe that these simple, but VERY IMPORTANT commands will help you not only control your dog in everyday situations, but may someday save your dogs life. Syllabus: a. When should we start b. Heel (walking your dog in a controlled manner) c. Sit-stay and down-stay d. The come command or recall BEHAVIORAL TRAINING The next two types of training are behavioral issues. First we have Dog on Dog aggression, most pets need to be evaluated in a controlled manner to asses the severity of this type of behavior. This type of training starts first with a private consultation, then depending on the confidence of the owner/dog relationship, we design a personalized training program for you and your dog, and your trainer. Then there is Dog on Human aggression, again we need to evaluate the pet in a controlled environment, both of these types of behavior if not corrected will possibly someday end with you going to court, or finding yourself on the 6:00 o'clock news!!! Depending on the severity of the aggression, the relationship with the owner, and how the animal responds to basic obedience commands, will determine on how a training program is designed for you. When we talk about BEHAVIORAL issues we need to look at the pets past, and present surroundings and ask the questions, Why does my dog behave like this? Is there a medical issue we haven't noticed? Is my family in an immediate danger? Or any other questions you may have. Syllabus: a. Fear based (fight or flight) b. Protective based (protecting my humans or what is mine) ADVANCED OBEDIENCE This is more of personalized class for the owner and dog but in a class room setting or private if you wish!! Hand signals b. advanced basics c. personalized training PRIVATE TRAINING Is your daily schedule to busy to commit to a classroom setting? Is your dog so out of control you can not get your dog to a training facility? Does your dog not ride in a car in a calm, safe manner so you could get to class? If so, we also offer private one on one training that is scheduled to fit YOUR day.
